ABOUT US

We've been working as Sylvan Woods since the early 90s. Since we love the
warmth and beauty of redwood and we know that the natural tannins in redwood
make it unappetizing to most insects, we use redwood exclusively for our spa
and hot tub products.

Michael started delivering to retail spa dealers out of the back of our El Camino, or off a small trailer he pulled behind our '70 Monte Carlo. We began simply building and selling Steps. As the years have passed, we've added many new products, including everything redwood for spas and hot tubs like redwood gazebos and enclosures, redwood surrounds, and various redwood accessories.

You'll see that we have uniquely named some of our redwood spa accessories. One of our redwood step surrounds is named after Ira Campbell. He was a man who helped us when we first began Sylvan Woods. We've named one of our redwood gazebos The Whitney to honor our dear friends, Ken and Jerene Whitney, who worked with us and were extremely helpful to the business through the years.

In 2005 we introduced several new redwood gazebo and enclosure lines. The Kareem Series, The Marshall Series, The Snodgrass Series, and The Stoudenmire Series are all named after people who have been friends to us over the years. Each has believed in and helped us and that has meant the world to us. So this is a way to honor each of them.

Although the majority of our customers are on the West Coast, we sell all over the country. Part of the attraction for our Northern California dealers is that we will deliver to their door. And we will even drop ship.

As you might guess, our pictures aren't professional. Most of the pictures of our redwood spa products were taken by Michael, some in our front yard, some in our son's backyard, some in the downtown plaza, and some at the park we were married in, lo, those many years ago.
